Life in China 2016: A Picture A Day, July 17 – Claw arcade game machines or 爪游戏机 Zhǎo yóuxì jī (pronounced “jow” (ryhmes with cow) “yo” (rhymes with go) plus “she” “gee” (like in gee whiz!) :-) are popular in China just like the USA. Who doesn’t love those little plush toys! Some toys are the same, some of these machines had teddy bears, angry birds and baby Pink Panthers, but I like the unique ones, like these bags of rice… white and black rice! These machines were found in a row of restaurants next to a Shenzhen subway station (top), in the entrance to our supermarket, and in another area of our shopping plaza. www.myownchinesebrocade.com
