Yesterday, while walking near the lake, I took a picture of two of my favorites here in Songshan Lake. The red flowers are on a Bottlebrush tree or shrub. The bird is a Oriental White-eye, sometimes called a Japanese White-eye in the ID books I have. They are very small birds and make a kind of squeaky noise. Here's another picture from January 2016.
I used to see these a lot in Shenzhen also; here are some past pictures I had taken there.
